Responsibilities Tasks Calculate fixed assets and depreciation Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed Address customers' complaints or concerns Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations Load and unload goods Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Pay and receive payments for goods Perform brake adjustments Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Transport and handle dangerous goods Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses AZ class license Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles) Experience and specialization Documentation knowledge Accident or incident reports Bill of lading Dangerous goods occurrence reports Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Maintenance and repair reports Trans-border documentation Trip reports Type of trucking and equipment Tractor-trailer Transportation/travel experience Local Long-haul Short-haul Additional information Security and safety Criminal record check Driver's validity licence check Drug test Transportation/travel information Drive manual transmission vehicle Own transportation Own vehicle Travel expenses paid by employer Valid driver's licence Willing to travel cross-border Willing to travel for extended periods Willing to travel internationally Willing to travel overnight Work conditions and physical capabilities Attention to detail Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Sitting Personal suitability Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Excellent written communication Flexibility Judgement Organized Reliability Team player Hardworking Patience
